Maxsurf Webinar 3 Intact Stability

Our third Maxsurf webinar was held February 15th 2011. The topic was Intact Stability Using Hydromax.

This webinar gave an introduction to techniques for checking your model, running basic stability analysis and adding load cases and tanks. This was followed by runnning equilibrium and large angle stability checks including checking for compliance with stability criteria.

Upright Hydrostatics
The Upright Hydrostatics analysis mode in Hydromax allows you to calculate hydrostatic properties at a range of drafts. This video explains setup and use of this analysis.  play

KN Analysis allows you to calculate cross curves of stability. This computes KN at a range of heel angles and displacements. This video shows how to set up and run KN Analysis and review results in table and graph form.  play

Hydromax has an integrated editor for defining tanks and compartments. This video shows how to define tanks and compartments and edit their properties.  play
Load Cases
This is a brief introduction to defining load cases in Hydromax. It covers adding loads, creating load groups, adjusting free surface moments in tanks and viewing loads.  play
Equilibrium Analysis
The equilibrium analysis mode allows you to determine the hydrostatic properties of a vessel subject to a defined load case.  play
Large Angle Stability
This video explains how to carry out large angle stability analysis in Hydromax. It also covers selecting stability criteria and reviewing results including the Gz curve.  play
