Maxsurf Webinar 2 - Modelling Techniques

Our second Maxsurf webinar was held January 11th 2011. The topic was Maxsurf Modelling Techniques.

It is important to plan your surface layout before starting modelling and then use an appropriate combination of bonding and trimming surfaces. This webinar covered planning, bonding, trimming and fairing surfaces.

Planning Surface Layout
Summary video from Maxsurf webinar 2 - Modeling Techniques. It explains how to go about planning the layout of surfaces on your hull.  play
Bonding Surface Edges
Maxsurf's edge bonding commands allow you to join surfaces together using positional or tangent continuity. This video shows how to use bonding to get a smooth join between hull surfaces.  play
Surface Fairing
Maxsurf contains a range of tools for fairing your design and creating high quality surfaces. This video shows functions including compress, curvature porcupines and gaussian curvature rendering.  play
Surface Trimming
This video shows the basic principles and techniques for trimming surfaces in Maxsurf. Surface trimming allows you to keep your surface fair while modelling discontinuities in the edges. You can also use curves to trim surfaces.  play
