Naturaliste

Description

Research vessel home-ported out of Fremantle, WA, the Naturaliste is named after one of the early French vessels to explore the WA coastline. It will operate in a wide range of conditions up and down the west cost of Australia and is designed to be relatively self sufficient for long periods of time. BAE Systems used Maxsurf, Hydromax, and Workshop in the design and construction of the vessel.

Naiad 9000 - 14.6 m - Rescue

Description

Commissioned by Auckland Volunteer Coastguard and custom designed by Steve Schmidt and his design team, Naiad's latest launching is this spectacular Dedicated Rescue Vessel "Lion Rescue". The design team have worked very well to accommodate all of their customer's requirements with well planned spaces and carefully designed steps to allow unencumbered entry to each area. Handrails are amply placed around the exterior and interior of the Naiad for safety in the rough conditions which often exist in rescue situations.

Spirit of Wellington - 12.6m - Backup Pilot/Rescue Boat

Description

The Port of Wellington and the Wellington Volunteer Coastguard both required craft around the 12 metre mark. The Port of Wellington Pilots required a craft as backup for busy times and while their main Pilot Boat was undergoing maintenance. The Coastguard, however, needed a dedicated Rescue Craft to ply the turbulent and moody seas of Cook Strait. These two groups decided to come together in a joint venture to share a vessel.

The deep "V" (23 degree) hull gives an exceptionally comfortable ride. With the wide placement of the two engines and the windage positioned amidships, the 12.6 will turn in its own length without having to reverse, making it ideal for performing delicate manoeuvres.

Naiad 9000 - 9.0 m - Watertaxi

Description

Designed as the "Four Wheel Drive of the Sea" TM the Naiad 9000 maximises the essential elements of safety and stability. Using a 21 degree vee on a wide hull, the Naiad 9000 was designed to carry 18 to 23 passengers speedily and safely to their destination in varied conditions.

Watertaxi

Description

A collaborative design effort between Craig Loomes Design Group and Grant Reed Designs, this striking design with its retro New York cab styling and bright yellow paintwork is intended to offer a practical, high speed passenger water taxi service to cities around the world with river, lake or harbour frontage.

Seating up to 30 passengers, the taxi offers bow, stern, port and starboard loading, a large head compartment, air conditioning and some external seating. It can be configured for propellers or water jet drive and either twin or single engine set ups.

Mako - Fast Rescue Boat

Description

Rescue boat/ MOB for Offshore, Commercial Shipping and the Cruise industry a.o. 2-3 crew on saddle seats, 15 survivors capacity. One or two outboard engines or 150-230hp inboard with Vosper Thornycroft composite waterjet. Top speed with 3 pax and full tanks 36 knots. Single point hoist / docking head. Self righting. Unsinkable. Glassfibre multiaxial construction with polyester, single skin and Prisma perform construction, all hand layup. Worlds first with integrated self righting arch doing away with the gas cylinder and inflatable bag.
